LAURENCE JENKELL

EXHIBITION FROM 15 DEC - 27 AUG 2016

Laurence Jenkell arrives at the Eden Rock for an exclusive exhibition!

Laurence Jenkell's candy sculptures are the outcome of a personal quest. An opportunity for the artist to freely express a state of mind, exorcise the demons of her childhood, ask questions about her heredity. From this tug-of-war, and even this sweet obsession, that has fed her work for so many years, she has come up with a remarkably unique production which now sells better than hot cakes! Laurence Jenkell's sculptures follow a path both cultural and intellectual.

This year again, Laurence Jenkell's work will be seen everywhere, even at Eden Rock… "A superb backdrop for my sculptures", comments the artist, who will exhibit a majestic work made of marble and aluminium in this new setting… We can't wait to see it!

EXHIBITION FROM 15 NOV - 27 AUG 2016

Eden Rock Gallery welcomes the talented photographer Stephane Kossmann. The artist breathes the film festival environment for his new exhibition Black and White Carpet

The climb up the steps of the Palais des Festivals at the Cannes Film Festival is a difficult moment for any actor. During the three minutes it takes to climb the red carpet, the actor is under the eyes of more than 150 professional photographers snapping over 2000 shots. Stéphane Kossman does not call the actors by their name. He observes and waits for that neutral moment, those fleeting instants where the star forgets the camera.there is no escape from his sharp eye, which catches every part of a second that the stars are letting go of their poses and wished-for image.

Eden Rock - St Barths, along with ART SAINT BARTH, promoting the island as an international art destination, invite the prestigious GALERIE PERROTIN to exhibit the work of famed Brooklyn-based artist KAWS for the second year in a row.

A St Barth regular for more than ten years, KAWS held his first show, titled “Permanent Vacation”, in the Eden Rock Gallery last winter. This year, KAWS makes his return to St Barth with a new show that marks a turn towards the abstract, inspired by the serenity of the island. You can expect to see the artist’s trademark Pop palette take a calmer, more streamlined form in his on-going exploration of the symbol and its ubiquitous presence in our everyday lives.

The Unknown
4 April - 4 July 2015

“Art is an adventure into an unknown world, which can be explored only by those willing to take the risk.”

Artists are those who take risks, they are seekers, and they are innately comfortable with the unknown. In line with the title of this exhibition, the works in the show play with our subconscious and with our awareness of how we perceive the world around us. The spectator is invited on a visual journey through the various expressions of seven fascinating artists, be it an obsessive quest for aesthetic or the study of a particular technique. The works in this exhibition blur the boundaries between photography and painting, between the physical and the virtual, between man and his surrounding.
